From the return of Gertie the Witch, visits from the plague doctor, and a murder mystery that's sure to get you scratching your chin, to our hands-on living history days, there is so much to enjoy throughout the spooky season at St Mary’s Guildhall.

The Cursed Guildhall

Join us at St Mary's Guildhall for Halloween, with witches and plagues! Spooky fun for all, young and older visitors can enjoy the return of Gertie the witch and her friends, who have taken over some of the Guildhall, making potions and wicked fun in the Great Hall. See more

Murder and the Highwayman - Murder Mystery

You're invited to His Lordship's Annual Ball!! When you arrive at St Mary's Guildhall, you will be welcomed with a drink before learning the news that one of the servants had been killed! Not only that, there is a notorious Highwayman on the loose! See more.

Plague and Performance

Join theatre historian Dr. Will Green as we uncover the macabre, true history of plague in Renaissance Coventry, and performance inside St. Mary's Guildhall. Staged in the very building where these struggling players sought work, revealing the dark, resilient history of regional drama surviving against the odds. See more
