St Mary's Guildhall and Bayley Lane

When to visit

Please note St Mary's Guildhall and the Undecroft cafe are not currently open. Throughout 2020 the Guildhall is undergoing a programme of conservation, refurbishment and building works, including opening up of the medieval kitchens. Please check for updates over coming weeks.

During the open season, St. Mary's Guildhall is open Sunday to Thursday*, from 10:00am to 4:00pm.

Schools and groups are welcome to visit outside of the main season by prior arrangement, subject to event bookings and staff availability. You can also check our events page for other opportunities to view the historic interiors.

*Please note that there are occasional closures of St Mary's Guildhall and the café for civic and private events. Please contact us to confirm opening arrangements if travelling a long distance to see us.

Admission to St. Mary's Guildhall is FREE. Donations are gratefully received to support the upkeep of the historic building and its collections.

School and Group visits

School and Group visits are very welcome during the open season, and at all other times of the year by arrangement. Please see the Group Visits page, for more details.

The Undercroft At St. Mary's

Our popular cafe, The Undercroft At St. Mary's, is open throughout the year, Monday to Friday*, 9:30am to 4:00pm.
